Double Door Boxcar. The PS 5344 series boxcar began production in the late 70s and finished in 1981. Being built during the incentive per diem (IPD) program allowed for a plethora of different eccentric paint schemes and variants. A missing variant of the line in model form is the double-door version. The double door 5344 variant allowed customers to load commodities like paper and lumber products due to their 16' door openings. These were produced in the 1980s for 2 primary roads: SNCT (Seattle North Coast) and WCTR (White City Terminal Railway). The Seattle North Coast is a great example of the eccentric paint schemes created during the IPD program, while the White City Terminal could've done better. These cars would last in their respective paint schemes up until the late 80s during the fall of the IPD program. Many of these cars would later go to different railroads (including BN and SBD) and potentially be completely repainted (Sierra Pine Limited). Some of these cars can still be seen today, as of 2025, in their original paint schemes, still roaming the rails and delivering lumber and paper to customers across the country.

The Keystone Prototype Model's Pullman Standard 5344 cu.ft.
