32091 CR BH1C Ballast Hopper

STARTING IN 1984 CONRAIL TOOK DELIVERY OF THE  NEW 1750 CUFT BH1C BALLAST HOPPER. OVER ITS LIFETIME SOME CARS OF THE CLASS RECEIVED VARIOUS EXTENSIONS TO INCREASE THE CUBIC FOOTAGE. THESE CARS, LIKE THEIR BH1D COUNTERPARTS, OFFERED BY OAK ISLAND MODELS WERE CONVEYED TO THEIR NEW OWNERS, NORFOLK SOUTHERN AND CSX AT SPLIT DATE. IN THE 2020’s AMTRAK PURCHASED A BATCH OF THE BH1D HOPPERS AND CONVERTED THEM TO SOLAR POWERED AND REMOTE CAPABLE OPERATION. 

This car is in our 3D Central "Fleet Builder" Line of simple cars with nice details. These are quick builds to help you build unit trains or just top off your layout rollings stock numbers with very little effort. Much more detail can be added to these if you would like, but they are left deliberately simple for those looking to fill out their rosters quickly!
