32103 C&O Short House Car XM B4-5

In 1923-24, the C&O ordered 2,370 house cars in three different classes; the V4-1 (500 cars), the B4-5 (1770 cars), and the A4-2 (100 cars). The cars were essentially the same design except for the door arrangements and the ventilated ends for the V4-1.

B4-5 84730-86499 Built in 1923 by American Car & Foundry. In 1936 the class was rebuilt with Youngstown steel doors and Climax flexible steel roof. The kit represents the car in it's as-built configuration.
