32102 C&O Short House Car XA A4-2

In 1923-24, the C&O ordered 2,370 house cars in three different classes; the V4-1 (500 cars), the B4-5 (1770 cars), and the A4-2 (100 cars). The cars were essentially the same design except for the door arrangements and the ventilated ends for the V4-1.

This version is the C&O A4-2 84630-84729 Built in 1923 by American Car & Foundry. These cars lasted until the mid-thirties when the auxiliary door was removed and the main door replaced with a Youngstown steel door. They were then reclassified as B4-6 but retained their original numbers. The kit represents the car in it's as-built configuration.
