32115 Merchant Despatch 40' Wooden Reefer

The model we're offering represents reefers built by Merchants
Despatch between September, 1922 and October, 1924. There were
5,100 cars built to this basic design as per the following chart:


Later cars (through October of 1930) were very close in appearance but
were 3” higher, did not have the large end brace, and were built with
hatch platforms.

Longevity
These cars ran in MDT livery at least through the end of world war II,
and the decal sets available will cover these cars. Also, many of the
class were sold to other railroads and repainted. In some cases, these
cars ran through the late 1950's.

FLEET BUILDER LINE
This car is in our 3D Central "Fleet Builder" Line of simple cars with nice details. These are quick builds to help you build unit trains, or just top off your layout rollings stock numbers with little effort. Much more detail can be added to these if you would like, but they are left deliberately simple for those looking to fill out their rosters quickly!
