When we started drawing variations on the GE cab, we couldn't find any way to refer to the various detail changes that occurred over time without making each part name excessively long, so we came up with the following abbreviations:
BSW = Blanks in auxiliary Side Windows
NSW = No auxiliary Side Windows
OSW = Open auxiliary Side Windows
PSW = Plates over auxiliary Side Windows
HH = High short Hood cab
RH = Rounded Headlight housing (Dash 7 Series cabs and late Universal Series cabs)
SH = Squared Headlight housing (Universal Series cabs)
RD = Reinforced Door
AC = Air Conditioner mount on roof
GP = antenna Ground Plane box
LW = "L-shaped" engineer's front Window
XLW = eX "L-shaped" engineer's front Window with vertical split added
BCR = This cab represents those found on British Columbia Rail's ex-Santa Fe B36-7 locomotives featuring new doors and numberboards.
